Free Educational Seminars on Weight Loss Surgery

Southwest Bariatric Surgeons is committed to the belief that an individual should make an informed decision about whether to have weight loss surgery. Therefore, we offer free educational seminars that explore the different surgical options, their benefits, and their risks. Attendance at one of these seminars is necessary before scheduling an appointment and is the first step toward weight loss surgery.

We currently offer live, interactive weight loss surgery seminars in:
• Austin • Round Rock • San Marcos • Georgetown • Lakeway • Cedar Park
(Surgery is performed in Austin and Round Rock.)

At each live seminar, a bariatric surgeon will address:
• Weight loss surgery options offered by Southwest Bariatric Surgeons:
    - Adjustable gastric band (LAP-BAND and REALIZE Band)
    - Gastric bypass
    - Sleeve gastrectomy (aka gastric sleeve and vertical gastrectomy)
• Benefits of weight loss surgery and of each procedure
• Risks and complications
• Dietary issues
• Who may be a candidate for surgery
• Answers to your questions

Please click the 'Sign Up' link next to the free seminar you'd like to attend. If you provide your e-mail address, you'll receive a reminder message with directions the day prior to the seminar.

Insurance Information
To speed getting your first appointment, please bring a copy of the front and back of your insurance card(s) with you to the seminar. If you're attending a seminar at a Seton facility, there is no need to do this, as we unfortunately cannot take information from patients at Seton facilities.

No Children, Please
Please do not bring a child or children to the seminar. They may become bored and possibly disruptive. This is not fair to the other attendees. Plus, they will cause you to miss important information. It is not a good situation for anyone.

Please Be On Time
If you are late, you may not be considered as having attended and won’t be able to schedule an appointment with a surgeon.

If you’ve had a previous bariatric procedure, you don’t need to attend a seminar. Please call us at 512.334.1885.

Seton Facility Seminars
